The answer comes down to 3 things: design, components and manufacturing.
Here at Outdoor Vitals we work extremely hard to meet all three of these criteria. We designed the Dominion free standing tents in the rugged backcountry of Southern Utah, field testing it on 12,000+ foot peaks all the way to slot canyons and desert floors. From there, we sourced DAC featherlite poles, quality milled ripstop fabrics, and YKK zippers to put together premium components for exceptional performance. Last we flew around the world and met with quality manufacturers to ensure our gear was being made in quality and ethical manufacturing facilities!
The end result is a premium ultralight backpacking tent that will cut weight out of your pack, keep you protected and not break the bank account!
Innovative Design Highlights:
Livable Space: We designed the tent to feel as big as possible, yet shave still shave weight. We did this by utilizing a tapered design giving your head area more room, widening the crossbar for more elbow room and slimming down unusable space by your feet!
Custom Fit The Adventure: Not every trip is the same so your gear needs to be able to adapt with you. With our modular design, you can drop weight by leaving the tent body behind when the bugs aren’t out, add an extra barrier of protection with the footprint in the winter snow and use tieouts as you need giving you a custom fit for all adventures!
Technology Behind The Product
DAC Featherlite Poles: We partnered with the world leaders in ultralight aluminium poles, DAC, for this project. Their poles shave ounces and retain incredible strength! While your Dominion tent might be a 3 season tent, we’ve tested it in 4 season conditions and it can truly handle the challenge!
Siliconized Waterproofing: Not all waterproofing is equal. The traditional PU (polyurethane) weights more and can flake off over time or if left moist for too long. Siliconized fabric treatments create a lighter weight waterproof barrier and if you accidentally put it away a little wet, it won’t ruin your waterproofing!
