Woman hooks massive hammerhead shark off North Padre Island on Labor Day

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (WOAI) — This was a fishing tale of a lifetime. Fishing guide and conservationist Jen Merchant hooked a hammerhead shark on Labor Day measuring a whopping 11 feet, 6 inches long, which Jen said was a personal best on her Instagram page. "So stoked! I finally got my personal best shark today! A 11 1/2 ft greater hammerhead! I couldn’t have done it without my husband @tim_merchant and my friend @dustinslifee . Thank yall for helping. Team work makes the dream work baby!
